How Online Businesses Can Prepare for the Upcoming Holiday Season

It is important for companies that do a lot of business online to be well prepared for the holiday season. This is particularly true when it comes to search engine optimization (SEO) and, since it takes some time for SEO strategies to have an impact on traffic and sales, now is the time to get started.

The holidays are an important time for sales because of the demand for products and services is on the rise around that time and competition becomes particularly fierce. Although consumer spending jumps during the holiday season, he notes that it can be more difficult for less established businesses to keep up with competitors.

However, with the current economic climate, an increasing number of customers will be willing to shop around for a good deal this holiday season, which creates valuable opportunities for online retailers. This is an important time to seize these opportunities and the best way to do so is through SEO.

In preparation for the holiday season, businesses should focus on keywords.

By now, most businesses have identified this year's 'must have' product or service. The keywords associated with this product are what the business should focus on. Businesses can help their cause by creating 'linkbait' blog posts related to the product or service and by developing internal linking strategies using the name of that product or service as the anchor text.

Regardless of the time of year, online retailers should avoid using the manufacturers' standard product descriptions on their website. Instead, businesses should concentrate on writing carefully constructed product descriptions that hit all the relevant keywords.

Also in preparation of the holiday season, businesses would be wise to undertake an all-out blitz on all of their social media networks. Social media is an increasingly important aspect of any marketing campaign, which is why, particularly when it comes to holiday SEO, businesses need to think about ways that they can use tools like Twitter and Facebook to drive traffic and boost conversions.

Christmas is a big deal for online retailers. If a business is to make the most of the increased earning potential that the holiday season brings, it must act now.

How to Avoid Potential Losses by Choosing the Right Design Firm

Many businesses in need of a quality website design often have difficulty deciding who to turn to for help.

A simple online search for website developers offering services within a particular region often produces a list that includes a significant number of companies who seem to offer the same services at similar prices. However, if a business chooses the wrong company, it can mean potential losses down the road.

Hiring the wrong website design and development company can be a huge financial risk if you factor in potential issues such as unanticipated costs and delays.

The first step in choosing the right website development firm involves a lot of homework. Businesses must research a candidate's history and properly relay to that candidate the needs and goals of the website.

In order to ensure that a developer understands the business's needs and goals, communication must be effective early on.

Being able to communicate openly with a chosen development firm and its employees is important if a business's project is to be successfully completed. Paying close attention to the communication styles of a prospective developer, before they are hired, can help a business to better determine whether that developer is a good match for their needs.

The most obvious way to figure out whether a design and development firm is right for a particular company is by looking at past projects. Requesting to see examples of a finished product and getting a good recommendation from someone who has worked with the perspective designer can be extremely helpful in determining whether their work is professional and will produce desired results.

Businesses should always be thorough in both their requests and expectations. It is extremely important that a business communicates their needs and their goals with a prospective website development firm from the very beginning.

Internal Link Building is Worth its Weight in Gold

From online marketers to web savvy business owners, and everyone in between, it seems that everyone involved in search engine optimization (SEO) always stresses the importance of creating backlinks. Some web marketers even foster the idea that businesses should pay for backlinks but, before throwing all of the proverbial eggs in one basket, business owners should first investigate how they can use internal links to boost traffic and sales.

To show the importance of internal linking and the SEO success that it breeds, I like to use the example of one of the Internet’s most popular information websites, Wikipedia. In fact, Wikipedia is one of the most ingenious examples of strategic internal linking.

For a great many search subjects, Wikipedia appears on the top of search engines. This is the result of an impeccable internal linking structure that disperses weight across all pages of the vast Wikipedia website and prevents commonly unused sections from being ignored by spiders.

Before a business spends time building backlinks from external sources, it should first investigate all of the internal linking opportunities that may currently exist.

Most website owners are sitting on SEO gold and need to realize that internal links are truly valuable. Yes, it takes time to build a hefty cache of internal links in order to increase the weight of internal pages but, after some hard work, businesses can reap some serious benefits by climbing up the search results ladder.

However, external link building is still an important aspect of an SEO campaign and that internal linking does not eliminate the need for external linking. It is equally as important.

How Ecommerce Websites Can Turn Visitors into Customers

Every successful ecommerce website owner knows that it takes great product information, a great design, simple navigation and visible customer service links to run a lucrative online business. However, if a business wants to grow a loyal customer base for the long term, it takes a lot more than the basics.

There are quite a few ways for online retailers to cultivate loyal customers and encourage them to bring their friends into the fold as well. The first course of action is to create a killer newsletter.

Contrary to what some industry experts say, people still like to receive email from companies they love and from stores that carry items or product lines that they are devoted to. By integrating useful tips and links to articles or invites to forums, a business can open up the lines of communication and many customers will likely take advantage of that.

Another great way to engage customers is to offer them the opportunity to rate products that are offered for sale on the ecommerce website.

Customer ratings and reviews will help a business sell products better than any description ever can. The reason is because people trust their peers more than they trust the business that is writing self-serving copy about itself.

Businesses that keep it truly honest, by letting the negative reviews in as well, are even more likely to gain the respect and trust of potential customers.

Finally, reminds ecommerce website owners to always keep 'calls to action' in mind.

No matter what a business does, it must always ask questions. Questions inspire people to respond, whether it concerns new products or feature they want to see. The more that a website gets its base to communicate, the more incoming links that website will get.

His presentation was a real eye-opener and the audience was captivated by his wisdom in human branding and brand differentiation, which he uses to help companies stand out in this rapidly changing economy.

According to Crisafi, Brazell's methodology is very similar to the practices that the staff at dzine it use for their clients. His approach is one that should be used for any new or existing businesses that wants to stay alive in an ever-changing economy.

'In order to succeed as a business or individual in this new economy, we must learn to communicate our brands differently," Brazell said during the two hour seminar.

'He spoke about and brought across some excellent points, things I will be changing within my business and about myself,' said Marc Teltordi, an attendee at the event.

Steve Brazell has a new books coming out, according to Crisafi, titled, 'Alive and Kicking.'
