Good Graphic Design is Essential to Company Branding

Consumers are incredibly visual people. If something catches their eye, whether it is a great logo or the vibrant colors of a website, they are likely to be attracted to it.
When a consumer is met with something that is visually stimulating, whether it is online or in print, they are more likely to stick around. Their gaze will be held longer if the image or graphic is well-designed and appeals to their aesthetic sense.

A recent report from Yahoo, for example, recently noted that this is the case regardless of which medium a designer uses and it found that the theory extends from websites to brochures and everything in between. If it has a visual element, it is worth it for businesses to get it right and get it right the first time.
That is precisely why hiring a graphic designer to help create a consistent branding campaign is essential for small businesses.

The bottom line is, whether we are talking about a company brochure, letterhead, or even a website design, if customers feel at home, they're more likely to purchase products or services. Although this may seem obvious, it stresses the importance of knowing exactly who the firm's customers are when developing any sort of branding.

Small business entrepreneurs would be best to hire graphic designers in order to help ensure that their marketing materials are visually appealing. If business owners do go this route, it is vital that companies work closely with designers to ensure the materials reflect the nature of the company and its goals.

How to Fashion the Right Content for a Business Website

A website design may be perfect, but if it is not getting the desired results that the company was looking for, perhaps the problem lies in the content.

There are thousands of articles that explain the benefits of keyword optimized content SEO techniques can increase search engine placement and drive traffic. However, great content consists of more than just keywords.

Calls to action have become as popular and as important as keywords themselves. Content should be used and written in such a way to encourage visitors to take the next step and contact the business about the services it offers.

Direct calls to action are very effective and should be used throughout every website. It is pointless for a business to simply list the benefits of its product or service and then leave them with no instructions about what to do next.

Before giving visitors a call to action, however, it is important to remember why visitors came to the site in the first place.

Businesses must remember that the point of a website is to explain and show visitors what the business can offer them and how they will directly benefit. Rather than focusing on the company, businesses should focus on the reader.

This can be achieved by offering specific examples or case studies to help communicate certain points. Showing how previous customers have benefited from a particular product or service is an effective way, making the website more personal.

These are just a few of the ways to ensure that a business's website content is up to par. The key is to never make the mistake of focusing on what a website looks like rather than what it says. Visitors are drawn in by both what they see and what they read.

Turning Browsers into Buyers

Consumers are spending more time and money online. Since a company's website is often the first interaction a potential customer has with that company, getting it right is crucial.

The key for businesses is to avoid spending too much time and money on search engine optimization until their website is perfect. This means that the website should offer the best content, form, and design, or else the business's search efforts and dollars won't reach their goal.

This is especially true of landing pages. However, while optimization a website's landing page is crucial, it only works if the content truly converts visitors.
A business should never play guessing games. It is impossible to know the majority of customers' true interactions and conversion points without testing the website first, website designs should never be finalized without the data.

Creating the perfect user-friendly website requires patience.

Businesses should take baby steps when it comes to their website. Small tweaks along the way can be more effective and less costly. Simple adjustments in color, wording, and content placement can increase conversion rates by up to 40 percent.

The first step in any integrated marketing plan should be to effectively test the business's website in order to easily and continuously identify the perfect combination of content and design to boost conversion rates and increase brand loyalty.

Once a business knows what makes their customers click online, they can use this rich data in other media, such as in-store marketing, direct mailings, e-mail, and customer-retention programs.

SEO Articles Are a Must for Small Businesses

For anyone that does business online, their target audience is their most prized possession. To reach that target audience and achieve a level of notable success, it is vital for a business to attract attention, gain interest and communicate.

Writing SEO articles on behalf of a business is an effective way of attracting this attention and also a great way of sharing valuable information. Any article created on behalf of a business therefore must be suitable for its target audience if it is going to play a productive role within a search engine optimization campaign.

An article provides the business with an opportunity to tell others about the products and services it offers and how they can benefit. It is important to include relevant and useful information pertaining to the business, within the article, so others can learn about what you do and why it is of significance to them.

If the article helps others by providing them with advice and helpful information, the business will also quickly gain their trust and respect as well.

It is also important to ensure that the business's message is being communicated clearly. It is one thing to include a great deal of relevant content in your article, but if the message cannot be easily identified, the article is not going to be effective.

Businesses must ensure that the language used in articles is appropriate for the target audience and that the ideas are expressed in a clear and simple manner.

By taking these issues into consideration before distributing articles online, a business has a better shot at reaching its target audience. If a business follows these simple rules, it can easily attract attention and interest and help the business grow.

Google is Doling Out Punishments

Although most reputable businesses use “white hat” search engine optimization (SEO) techniques to promote their website in a respectable manner, some businesses and their SEO marketers use unscrupulous or “black hat” SEO strategies to bolster their search engine rank.

According to a recent statement by search engine giant, Google, the company has altered its search algorithm to better deal black hat SEO practices and companies that use less than ethical practices to promote their website. Word has it that the change was inspired by an online retailer who demeaned customers into posting links to his website on popular complaint websites and forums, thus garnering his business a higher Google PageRank.

PageRank is a link analysis algorithm, named after Larry Page, used by the Internet search engine assigning a numerical weight to each element of a hyperlinked set of documents, such as the World Wide Web, with the purpose of "measuring" its relative importance. Google is mum about how it changed its algorithm.

A company spokesperson wrote on Google’s official blog that the company would actively work to prevent similar situations from arising in the future. According to Google they can now detect website owners that provide an extremely poor user experience and penalizes them based on their rankings.

More than 11 billion searches are conducted though Google each month.

With numbers like that, business owners should ensure that their search engine optimization strategies are ethically sound if they want to reach a large audience.
